topbanner_character.gif Hi! We are シェーちゃん (shae-chan) and アーちゃん (are-chan), SHARE's mascots!

Our ears are tied to each other, representing the HIV/AIDS red ribbon, which has been a powerful tool in increasing public awareness of AIDS. Through our trademark, we would like to recognize our support for this cause and for HIV/AIDS education.

We symbolize SHARE's efforts to listen to those in need and share its ideas regarding health problems around the world. In order to represent a safe and healthy society, we believe that we must deal with a wide range of health issues, including problems with public health, medicine, human rights, and welfare.

South Africa is said to be experiencing one of the most extensive HIV/AIDS epidemic globally, and has the highest number of people living with HIV in the world. There are a lot of children who have no enough food to eat and were orphaned due to AIDS. Most of them have never played with toys or stuff-animal.

We are very happy to be able to present stuffed animals designed by artist Miyako Kanamori, and to see children smiling. Hope they enjoy our heartfelt presents from Japan!
