No borders in problems related to human life
In 1991, SHARE started offering health consultations to migrant workers living in Japan (Consultation was held in the SHARE Office in the beginning. In 1993, we started offering mobile consultations). Mobile Health Consulting Services are offered at Christian churches and public facilities (in Tokyo, Kanagawa and Chiba) where such people would find it easier to attend, in cooperation with various organizations and administrative offices. These services are offered by volunteer medical professionals and members of the public, including student volunteers. Blood pressure measurements, urinalysis and medical/dental/nutritional consultations are conducted. We also support the administration in conducting examinations for TB control through a chest X-ray examination. If an examinee is found to need medical treatment, we refer him/her to a clinic or hospital with an interpreter as much as possible. SHARE offers such services in cooperation with Christian churches, NGOs and communities of non-Japanese people by encouraging local communities to take the initiative for lasting activities.
